Tina Arbatan

Tina was born in 1984 in Tehran, Iran. She began learning the Setar at age nine under Mr Farrokhzadi and later under Mr Elyasi. At age eighteen, she started playing Tar under Mr Torabi, focussing on the Radif for a couple of years and playing casually in a few ensembles such as Delshodegan and Homayoun ensembles. After coming to Australia to pursue her postgraduate studies at Monash University, she is currently attending Mr Mehmanpazir’s classes, mostly centred on music theory, as well as technical improvements.
